Infinity Octagon

Chrome Sparks

Stage, LED

In the fall of 2016, electronic musician Chrome Sparks came to us looking for a centerpiece for his fall tour. We developed a fully articulated 4 ft. infinity mirror that he could control from ableton through midi. Inside the mirror was an array of 2500 full-color addressable LEDs. The pivoting mirror allowed for the internal reflections to create a wormhole-like effect that the artist could trigger live or sync to musical passages. We created the rear mirror with rear-projection film so it was possible to “float” an image in the center of the infinite chasm. This installation constituted the visual focal point of his stage show, alternating between spacey and blinding psychedelic effects within a musically-driven portal to infinity.
