Fundroid, or “Funnie,” made its debut at the 3rd annual Software for Artists Day (S4AD) Conference at Pioneer Works in January of 2017. Funnie was programmed to autonomously travel to the pizza shop, order a pizza, pay the cashier, and deliver the pizza back to the attendees of S4AD. After the pizza delivery, Funnie did what any friendly robot would do: go back out to buy beer! Funnie was made with a rascal scooter, facial recognition software, and some tender love and care. If you’re wondering if Funnie was old enough to purchase libations, fear not! They showed the proprietor of the bodega a legal ID in the form of running on the Windows ‘95 operating system.
